- Minicomputer were introduced in 1960s.

The first minicomputer was introduced in the mid 1960’s by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC).
These are smaller in size have lower cost than mainframe. These computers are known as minicomputer because of their small size as computer to other computer at that time. The capabilities of a minicomputer are between mainframe and personal computer. These computers are also known as mid rang computer.
(03) Main Frame Computer
Main frame computer is also large scale computer but super computer is larger than main frame. These are also very larger than mainframe. These are also very expensive it can support a large number of various equipment’s.It also has multiple processors large mainframe system can handle the input and output requirements of several thousands of users. For example, IBMS/390. Mainframe can support 50,000 users simultaneously a mainframe is a large computer in term of size price power and speed. It was introduced in 1970s.
(04) Super Computer
Super computer is most power full and fastest. It is also very expensive. It was developed in 1960s. It is used to process large amount of data and to solve the complication and scientific problems. In super computer thousands of users can be connected at the same time and super computer handles the work of each user separately.Super computer is mainly used for:
- Weather forecasting
- Nuclear energy researches
- Auto motive design
- Online banking
